New WWE Tag Team Champions Crowned On WWE Smackdown

We have new WWE Tag Team Champions, with the MFTs capturing the titles in a triple threat match on WWE Smackdown. Tama and Talla Tonga defeated Damian Priest & R-Truth and The War Raiders on Friday night’s show to capture the titles.

The nearly 10-minute match opened with a brawl before Truth found himself isolated for a bit. Priest was able to get the hot tag and cleaned house on the War Raiders, who were eventually able to get some control later in the match.

The finish of the bout saw Priest get taken out with a Thor’s Hammer through the barricade on the outside. That left Truth in the ring and he ended up eating a double powerbomb from the Tongas for the pinfall and titles.

You can see a clip from the WWE Smackdown match below. This is the third reign for Tama Tonga, who had two previous reigns as part of the Bloodline and then alongside Solo Sikoa, and the first for Talla Tonga. Priest and R-Truth’s reign ends at 147 days, having defeated Sikoa and Tama for the titles on the March 20th episode of Smackdown
