MJF took to social media to to share his reaction to being ranked at #1 on this year’s PWI 500 list. As noted earlier, the former AEW World Champion topped this year’s list as he beat out Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Mistico, and Konosuke Takeshita for the lead spot.

MJF posted to his Twitter account to share the announcement, succintly writing:

“The best professional wrestler in the world.”

The past year saw the Salt of the Earth hold the AEW World Championship twice, winning the first at AEW Worlds End in December in a four-way match that included then-champion Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Hangman Page. He lost the title to Darby Allin at AEW Dynamite: Spring Breakthru and then regained it at AEW Double or Nothing.

MJF last competed at AEW All In, where he was part of the Casino Gauntlet match for a shot at the AEW World Title. Andrade El Idolo ultimately won the match.
