More Reactions To Hulk Hogan’s Passing: Honky Tonk Man, Triple H, More

Tributes to the late Hulk Hogan continue to pour in from both in and out of the wrestling world with Honky Tonk Man, Triple H and others paying tribute to the legend. As noted, the WWE Hall of Famer and wrestling icon passed away today at 71 of a cardiac arrest. A number of tributes have already been shared by the likes of WWE, TNA, Eric Bischoff, Ric Flair, Kane, Jake Roberts and more, and you can see some more below.

Honky Tonk Man, who was part of the Rock & Wrestling era with Hogan, wrote:

“I will miss you Hulkamania”

In addition, the family of the late Roddy Piper, one of Hogan’s great rivals from that era, wrote on Piper’s official Twitter account:

“Saddened to hear that Terry, Hulk Hogan has passed away. The Toombs Clan send their love and condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace.”

Triple H wrote on Twitter:

“WWE would not be where it is today without the larger-than-life characters that compete in the ring … and few, if any, loomed larger than Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea.

He was the archetype of what it meant to be a “Superstar” – a global sensation that inspired millions to work hard at whatever it was they wanted to accomplish and a look that made him recognizable to fans around the world.

Hulk Hogan, clad in red and yellow or nWo black and white, was simply put, iconic. As a Real American or the leader of one of the industry’s biggest factions, he transcended and elevated the entire business to heights never before seen – in every country and on every continent.

There was no one like The Hulkster and there very well may never be another. My family sends their condolences to his family, friends, and fans.”

Adam Pearce wrote on Instagram:

I grew up in Chicagoland watching the AWA pre-cable via tin-foiled rabbit ears. The Incredible Hulk Hogan vs. the World Champion Nick Bockwinkel with Bobby Heenan.

Original Hulk-a-Mania. Magic. I loved it.

Fast forward a million years.

April 4, 2013. Jonesboro, Arkansas.

I’m working the first of two dates for TNA. Trying to get hired on as an agent (thank you again, Bruce Prichard). Wrestled a match against a talent I really liked and that they wanted to hopefully feature. It didn’t go well. I took the blame because I was senior.

I sit down to watch the rest of the matches, and Hulk sits next to me. Eric Bischoff next to him. Hulk asked me what I thought. I answered honestly.

He told me what he thought. I’ll always appreciate his words.

Over time people do many things, become loved and hated, rinse-and-repeat for those things, and if we’re all being honest, the emotions are warranted.

It is impossible to overstate the impact that Hulk Hogan had on our industry and the countless people that got into it because of him. In a roundabout way, I’m one of them. Heenan was my idol, but when he was opposite Hogan it was the magic I fell in love with.

Godspeed, Hulk Hogan. Thank you for all of the good. Thank you for your candor in a moment where I doubted myself. All love to his family, friends, and those lives he touched along the way. Rest well, sir. “
