NJPW has announced a NEVER Openweight Championship match for NJPW King of Pro Wrestling 2026, which takes place next month. The company announced on Friday that Aaron Wolf will defend his championship against Kosi Fujita at the show.
The match was set up when Fujita pinned Wolf during a tag team match at the Road to Destruction tour, which saw Fujita and Ryohei Oiwa take on Wolf and Taichi.
The announcement notes:
“What started as a war of words at the G1 semifinal night in August saw Fujita hurl ever more insulting verbal barbs at Wolf, leading to an enraged NEVER Champion engaging in a pull apart brawl on September 9 in Korakuen. The next night’s main event saw Fujita rear back with a brutal skull to skull headbutt on Wolf before a massive deadlift German suplex saw the Best of the Super Jr. winner score the pinfall victory.”
You can see the updated card below for NJPW King of Pro Wrestling 2026, which takes place on October 12th at Ryogoku Sumo Hall in Tokyo, Japan:
