Some additional details have been reported on the rumor that Vince Russo had some talks about a possible WWE return earlier this year. Conrad Thompson reported on Tuesday that he had “heard” that Russo had discussions with WWE President Nick Khan during the summer about a possible return to the company. However, he said when he followed up a couple of weeks ago, he was told that the possibility of a Russo return “died on the vine.”
Fightful Select has reported that sources at WWE Headquarters did say to them that Russo had conversations with Nick Khan, and that Russo was either at WWE HQ at some point or considered to visit there. However, there’s no word on how serious the conversations between Khan and Russo were.
The report also notes that word of Russo and Khan talking did not make it much further and that none of the agents, producers, writers, or staff who are on the road had heard about it. Fightful notes some “influential names” laughed the idea off and that some people who work closely with Khan said it was never brought up to them.
Russo himself has not yet commented on the matter — but don’t worry, he probably will soon enough.
