Nick Wayne outsmarted Chris Jericho to win the rubber match at AEW WrestleDream 2026.

The match kicked off with Wayne spitting in Jericho’s face, prompting the latter to return the favor. The veteran took control of the proceedings when he planted The Prodigy with a Death Valley Driver on the steep steps.

Later, Jericho Powerbombed Wayne onto a ring post and then applied the Walls of Jericho. However, Wayne was able to reach the ropes. Wayne regained control with another disrespectful act, as he spat water into Jericho’s face and then hit a Sliced Bread on the apron. He followed it up with a 450 Splash and then Wayne’s World. However, Jericho kicked out at one.

The closing stretch of the match saw Wayne hit a couple of low-blocks on Jericho behind the referee’s back, but the latter no-sold it, as he was wearing a cup, which he later pulled out. Jericho rained down blows on Wayne’s head with the cup before the referee snatched it.

As the referee was busy handing it to the ringside staff, Jericho hit a low blow of his own and went for the Judas Effect. However, Wayne collapsed, and as Jericho went to pick him up, The Prodigy rolled him up with a cradle pin to secure the victory.

After the match, he grabbed a microphone and announced, “Nick Wayne Beat Chris Jericho,” as the pyro went off. Jericho smirked, as Nick celebrated his victory on the ramp.
