Nikki Garcia Reflects On Moment With Roxanne Perez During WWE Royal Rumble

Nikki Garcia and Roxanne Perez shared a moment during the women’s Royal Rumble match, and Garcia spoke about how it came about on her podcast. Perez mocked Garcia by doing her push-ups during the match, something that Nikki reflected on during the latest episode of the Nikki & Brie Show.

“There was a moment in the Rumble where everyone was like, ‘You have to do your push-ups,'” Garcia said (per Fightful). “The push-ups did become pretty iconic. We thought it would be such a great place after Nia gets hit with all those different moves and everyone is done to have this push-up moment. I thought it would be amazing to do that with Roxanne. The history with Roxanne, when she was really young, she was waiting where a lot of us would be coming in and out of the arena. She was sitting there and she called out to Brie and I and was asking about advice. She was showing me this video. She made Total Divas as a little girl, I think it was when her and Brie were talking.”

She continued, “She was showing me the video the night before (Rumble) when we were talking and it’s so cute. I go to her and I go, ‘You know, I’m probably going to need a tag partner in five years.’ As a little girl, she responds to me, ‘I’d rather have a match against you in five years.’ I was like, ‘Ohh, okay.’ Ten years later, she and I are in the ring. It’s so crazy when you see the video and I’m sitting there looking at her like, ‘This is wild.’ We both wanted to have that moment. That is the moment I had with Roxanne. Hopefully, there will be more to do with her in the future. She is such an incredible wrestler. Incredible wrestler, incredible person, obsessed with her character, it was giving me vibes of me and AJ Lee back in 2015-16 era.”

Both women were in the final four of the women’s Rumble, with Perez ending up the runner-up to winner Charlotte Flair.
