NJPW Reveals Final Singles Match For Hiromu Takahashi

Hiromu Takahashi will work his final singles match in NJPW this weekend, as announced by the company on Wednesday. As noted, the longtime NJPW star is set to leave the company after the company’s February 11th show. Takahashi is seeking to make his mark outside of NJPW and has said it has nothing to do with dissatisfaction toward New Japan.
New Japan announced on Wednesday that Takahashi will compete in his last singles match for the company at their February 8th show in Osaka, Japan. He will face Masatora Yasuda.
The announcement reads in full:
“At both competitors’ requests, Hiromu Takahashi will wrestle his final NJPW singles match before his sendoff against Masatora Yasuda Sunday in Osaka, wrestling double duty on a special live event!”
Takahashi’s final bout will be a tag team match as he teams with Taiji Ishimori against Jakob Austin Young & Franceso Akira.
The fan-favorite has been part of NJPW since 2010. he is a former IWGP Tag Team Champion, a five-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, and a former NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion. He is also a four-time winner of the Best of the Super Juniors and won the 2024 World Tag League with Tetsuya Naito.
