Note on AEW Status of Dr. Britt Baker

During the latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp answered a fan question regarding former AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, who hasn’t appeared on AEW programming since 2024.

Sapp noted that he hasn’t heard anything about Baker being sidelined with an injury. However, he did say that Baker’s name was brought up at the upcoming tribute show for Rebel. Sapp added that he hasn’t heard about anything regarding Baker beyond that.

Dr. Baker’s real-life friend and on-air valet and tag team partner is currently battling ALS. As previously noted, Dr. Britt Baker and Rebel recently reunited for a new edition of their classic Waiting Room video last month.

The AEW Rebel Heart Dynamite is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9. The even twill be held at the Akins Ford Arena in Athens, Georgia. Dr. Baker has not been officially announced by AEW for the event.

Baker’s current AEW contract is reportedly expected to run until the minimum of fall 2026. She previously signed a new five-year contract with AEW back in 2021. However, it’s possible AEW could add more time to her contract due to time she missed because of injuries.
