Note On Road Dogg Claiming Political Beliefs Kept Him From AEW

Road Dogg claimed on Wednesday that his “political beliefs” led to his being turned away from a possible job at AEW, though a new report argues that’s unlikely. As noted, the WWE Hall of Famer and former creative member claimed at the tail end of argument with Dave Meltzer on Twitter that he was “turned away because of my political/core beliefs” from a possible job in the company.

Meltzer addressed that claim on Wrestling Observer Radio, stating, “There are many people in AEW that have conservative viewpoints and I have never heard of anyone not being hired by AEW based on political viewpoints in one direction or the other.”

The argument between the two was kicked off after Road Dogg argued that the AEW World Tag Team Championships are beneath The Gunns, leading to a back and forth between them.
