Backstage Note on Stephanie Vaquer Following Last Night’s WWE Raw Angle

As previously reported, Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and the Judgment Day assaulted former champion Stephanie Vaquer during last night’s WWE Raw. Later on, Michael Cole announced that Vaquer suffered a second-degree AC shoulder sprain and that she’d be out of action for a while.
During today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed the angle, and if it was meant to write Vaquer off of television while she heals from a legitimate injury. According to Meltzer, the reason he’s sure Vaquer is likely legitimately injured is that Morgan and Vaquer “were originally supposed to wrestle” at WWE Backlash next month.
So, it would appear that Stephanie Vaquer is indeed legitimately hurt and will be out of action for the time being, with Vaquer’s injury preventing a planned rematch with Morgan at Backlash in less than two weeks. The nature and severity of Vaquer’s injury are still unknown, or when she will be returning to WWE programming.
Morgan currently doesn’t have a match or an opponent scheduled for WWE Backlash 2026. The WWE premium live event is scheduled for Saturday, May 9. It will take place at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida. The show airs live on the ESPN App in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
