Note on Tony Khan Ribbing Fans at AEW Events on Bringing a PPV to Their City

Although Tony Khan “promised” crowds in Texas throughout 2025 that there would be a pay-per-view event brought to the state in 2026, that doesn’t look like it will be the case. In the latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A, a fan asked Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp about Tony Khan promising to bring an AEW pay-per-view to the state this year in the San Antonio region.
However, Texan AEW fans shouldn’t hold their breath. Sapp indicated that Khan’s comments are part of a larger ongoing rib that he likes to do with the fanbase. According to Sapp, Khan informs dozens of cities that he should bring a PPV show to the town when the crowd is hot to hype them up for the TV tapings.
However, this is now merely a constant rib by Tony Khan, so it looks like there won’t be an AEW PPV show in San Antonio later this year.
