Backstage Notes on AAA Broadcast Deal With FOX Mexico

As previously reported, WWE recently announced a new television partnership with the Fox Corporation to bring AAA programming, including premium live events, to FOX Mexico. Under the new broadcast agreement, AAA programming will air across Mexico, Central America, and South America, excluding Brazil. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has some more details on the new broadcast deal.
AAA shows will be broadcast in the aforementioned regions starting in 2026, and AAA will be classified as sports content. The announcement stated that AAA will be broadcast on FOX platforms, including the FOX channel on Tubi, available for free in AVOD format, the FOX pay TV channel, and the SVOD platform FOX One.
The Observer reports that sources in Mexico downplayed the deal, claiming that none of the outlets on which AAA will be available have much in the way of viewership in Mexico. Currently, AEW airs on FOX Sports Mexico, which reportedly has limited viewership. Meanwhile, WWE programming airs on Fox Latin America.
The Observer also notes that even though FOX Sports Mexico is more established than Fox Latin America, FOX Sports Mexico lost many of its broadcast rights to Fox Latin America. Although both networks share the Fox name, they are reportedly unrelated, and FOX Sports Mexico is said to be on a decline, while Fox Sports Latin America is on an ascent.
Additionally, WWE reportedly announced the deal shortly after word made its way out that AAA’s current broadcast partnership with Space will conclude at the end of the year. The Observer also reports that CMLL will have the strongest television exposure in the region through Televisa.
