A star may have just been born at WrestleMania 42: Sunday, as The Ruler, Oba Femi, vanquished former WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar, in the opening bout. Oba Femi only needed just about five minutes, but The Ruler destroyed Lesnar, beating him clean.

Oba Femi survived an F-5 and a trip to Suplex City from Brock Lesnar. However, Oba Femi battled back and later retaliated with a Fall From Grace to score the pinfall victory. The win essentially cements Oba Femi’s status as the next huge star for WWE.

Intriguingly, Lesnar removed his gloves and boots after the match, perhaps symbolically signaling his retirement. Lesnar then embraced his longtime friend and onscreen manager, Paul Heyman. The moment appeared to be a curtain call for the 48-year-old Beast Incarnate.

Heyman raised Lesnar’s arm, and Lesnar then took a victory lap of sorts, standing up in the corner and playing to the crowd. He then sat in the middle of the ring and took a final bow before leaving the ring with Heyman. Lesnar appeared grateful to the warm reception he received from fans after the match, and he continued playing to the crowd before heading backstage.
