OG El Grande Americano Spoils El Grande Americano II’s Rey de Reyes Sword Presentation Ceremony

The main event of AAA Rey de Reyes Week Two featured El Grande Americano II’s Rey de Reyes sword presentation ceremony.

The ceremony featured Marisella Pena, 1999, 2010, and 2015 Rey de Reyes winners; Cibernetico, Chessman, and Texani Jr.

El Grande Americano II, who won this year’s tournament, came out to a massive reception from fans. A visibly emotional Americano thanked the crowd for their support, acknowledged the veterans in the ring, and thanked Marisela and the Pena family, declaring that it’s an honor to represent AAA.

He again thanked the audience for their support and started to cry. He then said, ‘The pride of Mexico isn’t about the color of your skin; it’s about the culture and the people who are from all over the world.”

However, El Grande Americano II’s night took a turn for the worse as AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio made his way to the ring. Mysterio shook Americano’s hand and congratulated the latter for winning the Rey de Reyes tournament, something that his father has never done.

Dominik then asked if he wanted a shot at the AAA Mega Title “right now.” In response, Americano shouted Dom out of the ring, opening up the opportunity for the OG El Grande Americano to attack him from behind.

The OG laid a beatdown on the Rey de Reyes winner and also tried to rip his mask, but Los Americanos came for the save. The OG Americano then went to the ring and took the Rey de Reyes sword and posed with it on the commentary table as the show went off the air.
