Paige Reveals What She Told Triple H After Receiving Clearance From WWE Medical Team

Paige returned to WWE after a gap of nearly four years at WrestleMania 42 Night One, replacing an injured Nikki Bella in the Fatal Four-Way Women’s Tag Team Championship match. This was her first match in WWE in over eight years, and the English professional wrestler had a memorable outing, as she and Brie Bella captured tag team gold in front of a packed Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
For Paige, it was an emotional moment, as she had been previously ruled out to compete by the WWE medical team. This led to her leaving the company four summers ago and joining All Elite Wrestling. Paige appeared on What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon this week.
During the conversation, she revealed that she had a 10-hour appointment with the WWE medical team ahead of WrestleMania 42 and that she got very emotional after being cleared. So much so that she even hugged the doctors and then sent Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque a voice note. Here’s what Paige said:
“It was a couple things: the fact that my neck was good. The last time I was in WWE, my neck wasn’t, and I had to retire, and I had to miss out on all these massive things like the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and all these things I didn’t get to be a part of, even though I was a part of the group that kind of ignited that. And it’s just the fact that I’m gonna be ok; I was like, ‘Wow, my neck was good. I’m happy, I’m healthy, everything’s going right.’
“So I was bawling my eyes out, hugging the doctors, and I sent Hunter a voice note saying, ‘I’m cleared. You can’t get rid of me.’ So yeah, I was completely cleared, and then it kinda went into negotiations, and that was on Monday; we were getting all that done, and then this weekend was obviously Mania, so it was a quick turnaround.”
