Penelope Ford Out of Action With UCL Tear, Replaced In AEW Women’s Tag Team Title Tournament

Penelope Ford is on the shelf due to injury, necessitating a change in the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament lineup. Ford appeared on Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite with Megan Bayne. Ford revealed in the interview segment that she suffered a UCL tear and is out of action indefinitely.
Bayne was left without a tag partner in the tournament as a result. Fortunately, Marina Shafir appeared and put herself up as Bayne’s tag team partner for the tourney. Bayne and Shafir will take on Anna Jay and Tay Melo in the first round of the tournament.
Fightful reports that Ford suffered the injury on last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Ford performed a moonsault during the four-way tag team match on the show and suffered the injury after that. No word on how long she may be out of action.
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Ford on a quick and full recovery.
An injury has sidelined @thePenelopeFord, but @meganbayne’s run in the #AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Tournament isn’t over yet. @MarinaShafir seems ready to step into that opening!
