CMLL has a new World Women’s Champion. At last night’s CMLL La Noche de Las Amazonas show, AEW and CMLL wrestler Persephone beat Mercedes Mone to win the belt and ending Mone’s title erign.

Mone held the title for 261 days, winning it from Zeuxis at AEW Grand Slam Mexico in June of last year. This marks Persephone’s firsst CMLL World Women’s Title victory. She previously held the CMLL Universal Amazons Title, and she won the Grand Prix de Amazonas last year.

At one point, Mone held as many as 13 wrestling titles at the same time. However, she started going on a streak of title losses after losing her AEW Women’s World Title challenge to Kris Statlander in November at AEW Full Gear 2025.

The following month, she lost the ROH Women’s World Television Title to Red Velvet, the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Title to Alex Windsor, and her AEW TBS Title to Willow Nightingale at AEW Dynamite New Year’s Smash 2025.

As previously reported, Tony Khan confirmed AEW’s signing of Persephone last month. She has a dual AEW and CMLL contract, allowing her to wrestle in both promotions, similar to Hechicero and Mascara Dorada.

Now, Mone has only eight wrestling titles left. Some clips and images of Mercedes Mone versus Persephone from last night’s CMLL show are also available below:
