Backstage Update on Potential Gunther vs. Finn Balor Match at WWE Crown Jewel 2026

As noted, a promotional poster outside one of the gates of WWE Crown Jewel’s originally listed venue, the Riyadh Season Stadium in KAFD, advertised Gunther vs. Finn Balor for the November 7 event.

While WWE has been building toward this match for the past few months, it has yet to be officially confirmed for Crown Jewel. However, in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), Dave Meltzer stated that the original lineup for the show had Gunther vs. Finn Balor on it, and if it doesn’t end up happening, that’s likely due to a last-minute change in plans.

Gunther and Balor have been at each other’s throats since SummerSlam 2026. Though they have featured in a couple of multi-man matches over the past few months, they are yet to lock horns in a singles contest on television.

However, they did go one-on-one at last night’s Road to Survivor Series: WarGames live event in Youngstown, Ohio, and that might be a teaser for what’s to come on November 7.
