At last night’s ROH Supercard of Honor, Red Velvet beat Viva Van to retain the ROH Women’s World TV Title. During the post-show media scrum, Red Velvet discussed her victory and growth as a wrestler. Below are some highlights (via Fightful):

Red Velvet on Her Growth as a Talent

“The growth has been big. I came here and was given a chance, and it snowballed. I just have to put one foot in front of the other, that’s what I do every time. I hold my head up high, I train, and am one of the first people here. I put in my hard work, but time and reps. The world saw me make mistakes. I made mistakes on TV, and I grew from every part of that. Every journey, every opponent, every up and down, every injury and comeback, every time and every year. You can’t stop injuries; that happens in life, you either sulk and cry about it or be like, ‘My head is on to the comeback.’ I will be damned if I, my work ethic, and how much I love this business, if I come back worse than how I left. Disrespectful. Would never. Not in my ethics. Growth and rep.”

On How She Was a Baby When She Started

“I was a baby here when I came. Moving into this next chapter, people are like, ‘She can’t do that.’ Watch me. I plan to be here for a long time. This is my home. This is where I got my story started. I want to be here when the Hall of Fame presents itself for AEW. I will be a part of it. That’s my goal. My goal is to not only be here and be a champion, but also be the face of this division and watch the future as well. I’m not afraid of the future. I love this business and opportunity. I have to be here, grow here, and be loyal here. I don’t take that lightly. I’m locked in, bossman, we’re locked in for life.”

Red Velvet will now be vying for the AEW TBS Title. She challenges Willow Nightingale for the belt later tonight on AEW Collision. Tonight’s show airs live on TNT starting at 8:00 pm ET.
