Rey Pegasus Captures Mexican National Middleweight Title At CMLL Noche de Campeones

Rey Pegasus is the new CMLL Mexican National Middleweight Champion, ending Guerrero Maya Jr’s lengthy reign at CMLL Noche de Campeones. Pegasus defeated Maya Jr. at Friday night’s show at Arena Mexico in Mexico City in order to capture the title.

The finish saw Pegasus hit Maya with a Slingshot Moonsault, getting the pinfall and capturing the championship. You can see a clip from the match below.

This marks Pegasus’ first reign with the championship, and ends the reign of Guerrero Maya Jr. at a massive 1,212 days. Maya Jr. won the vacant title in a match against Rugido at CMLL Super Viernes on June 2nd, 2023. Maya’s reign is the third-longest ever, behind only two reigns by El Santo which lasted 2400 days (September 1956 – April 1963) and 1,453 days (June 1963 – June 1967)
