Ricky Saints Retains NXT Championship Against Trick Williams At Halloween Havoc 2025

Ricky Saints retained the NXT Championship at NXT Halloween Havoc 2025, overcoming a valiant effort from Trick Williams in what was a banger of a main event.

Trick Williams started off hot, as he attacked Ricky Saints immediately after the bell rang. After promising to send the champion through the commentary table, Williams knocked over Saints with a Dropkick after the latter tried to charge at him.

The action spiraled on the outside as Williams smashed Ricky’s face on the announce table. However, as he prepared to clear out the table to inflict further damage to Saints, the defending champ sneaked into the ring and ultimately wrestled back the advantage.

Trick tried to mock Ricky after attempting to send him over the ropes, only for Saints to counter it and send him out instead. However, the former TNA World Champion managed to retain control by attacking his opponent’s eyes and sending him shoulder-first into the barricades before smashing his head repeatedly on the commentary table.

After dragging Saints back into the ring, Trick hit a Blockbuster, but the former kicked out. After withstanding immense punishment from Trick, Ricky tried to fight back with a couple of suplexes, but the former countered with a neckbreaker.

However, the champion continued to fight back. He nailed a Samoan Drop on Trick and then delivered a Russian Leg Sweep, following it up with a series of clotheslines.

He then went for a moonsault, but Trick rolled away and then locked in the Walls of Jericho. Though Ricky managed to break the lock, Trick followed it with a Rock Bottom and a Bookend, but Saints still kicked out.

In the closing moments of the match, Ricky locked Trick in an armbar. Williams was finally able to get his hand on the rope. He then went outside and grabbed the NXT Title. Ricky went after him, but Trick sent him crashing through the commentary table with a Bookend.

He then dragged Ricky into the ring and hit the Trick Shot, but the champion again kicked out. After another round of back-and-forth action, Saints delivered a Spear and a Tornado DDT via the top rope to Trick to retain the NXT Championship.
