Ricochet earned a pretty significant backlash online after he told a fan he was glad they got multiple sclerosis, something he’s now apologized for. The AEW star kicked up a hornet’s nest after the fan, who has spoken about her battle with MS and mentions it in her profile, responded to the post-AEW Revolution digital exclusive where he reacted to his AEW National Championship loss.
The fan wrote “His acting hasn’t improved,” after which Ricochet replied in a now-deleted tweet, “I’m glad you got MS.” The fan has since locked her account.
The post earned a hefty backlash online for being perceived as going too far. It was up for hours and Ricochet didn’t back down at first, posting at one point:
“Its soooo hilarious that the amount of little bitches who has tweeted and wished harm on me, who has wished even death, said some of the most VILE things to me AND my wife. People who try and make fun of me EVERYDAY. But those same little bitches can’t take it when I do it back to people.
F**king pussies, everywhere.”
Ricochet posted to his account on Tuesday afternoon to address the situation, writing:
“I took out my hatred for the IWC on Sandi, and inadvertently others who are effected by MS. She didnt deserve it and for that, I sincerely apologize. Moving forward I’ll do better.”
