Update on RJ City’s AEW Status as ‘Hey! EW’ Ends

RJ City is not leaving AEW, and recent changes to his on-screen projects are not tied to any contract uncertainty. Despite wrapping up the popular digital series ‘Hey! EW’ earlier this month and ending a long-running coffee-related project, City remains firmly under contract and deeply involved with the company.
As noted on Fightful Select Answers Q&A, the conclusion of Hey! EW was planned “for quite some time.” The decision was creative, not contractual as he is still working on his other duties. The coffee content was closed around the same time to give both projects “a nice clean sweep.”
Behind the scenes, RJ City remains an active contributor within AEW. Sean Ross Sapp expects him to be involved in creative and to contribute to new content. There is no indication of an on-air role reduction or an impending exit. His role has simply shifted further toward development and idea generation rather than recurring digital hosting. The conclusion of Hey! EW also opens room for AEW to refresh its digital programming strategy.
