Robert Stone Reveals Teams Receiving Byes In Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic

The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic kicks off on next week’s WWE NXT, and NXT GM Robert Stone has announced two teams receiving first-round byes. As announced on last night’s NXT, the 2026 iteration of the tag team tournament will start on next Tuesday’s episode.

Stone announced on Wednesday morning that Vanity Project and The Wagner Brothers will receive byes in the tournament by virtue of being the NXT Tag Team Champions and AAA World Tag Team Champions, respectively. The Wagner Brothers won the AAA tag titles from The War Raiders at AAA TripleMania 34.

The only other team announced thus far for the tournament are The Creed Brothers. Stone announced on last night’s show that the tournament will feature talent from NXT, AAA, WWE Raw, and WWE Smackdown.

Anything can happen like @WrenSinclairWWE interrupting today! And anything can be announced on #NXTRoundup every Wednesday morning.
