Samantha Irvin’s WWE departure in October 2024 left everyone shocked. The former ring announcer had become a fan favorite during her time with the company, and her departure left everyone puzzled.

In subsequent media interactions, Irvin opened up about her decision to leave WWE, revealing her desire to do a lot more than ring announcing. Recently, it came to light that Samantha is tied to a two-year non-compete clause with WWE.

In the latest edition of Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp answered a fan query about Irvin’s ongoing non-compete clause. The wrestling insider stated that the reason behind her lengthy non-compete clause is her decision to leave the company during her contract period.

Sapp revealed that after Samantha made it clear to WWE that she wanted to be more than just a ring announcer, the company offered her a new, lucrative deal in early 2024. She allegedly took the “bump in pay” with a lengthy non-compete clause attached to it.

Ross notes that after the new deal kicked in, the company started to have her do more ring announcing stuff and placing a camera to capture her reactions during matches.

The wrestling insider further claimed that there is a lot more to Samantha Irvin’s sudden WWE departure last October than what meets the eye.
