Both Zayn and Owens mentioned the absence of PWG’s Super Dragon from the audience, sharing their wishes that the co-owner of their mutual former indie company could have seen the match in person. Zayn on Dragon’s absence due to personal reasons: “We actually said in the ring, ‘God, I wish Super Dragon was here.’ He couldn’t be here.”
Owens on how they connected with Dragon just prior: “I texted him right before I went out, and sent him a picture of my gear … We really wouldn’t have gotten here without him. I don’t know how else to put it. He became a big brother to us right from the get-go when he took a chance on us.”
