Sami Zayn Retains Undisputed WWE Title Against Trick Williams On WWE Smackdown

It took two matches for him to do it, but Sami Zayn defeated Trick Williams in the main event of WWE Smackdown to retain the Undisputed WWE Title. Zayn battled Williams in the headlining bout of Friday night’s show, a match that ended becoming two matches after Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae got involved.

The first bout came to an end when Williams had countered a Helluva Kick and Gargano distracted the ref so that LeRae could toss Zayn the title. Lil Yachty took out Gargano and Zayn missed the belt shot, resulting in Williams hitting the Book End. Gargano pulled the ref out of the ring and a DQ was called.

Nick Aldis then came out and banned everyone from ringside before restarting the match as a No DQ bout. Willliams nearly had the win and grabbed the title to hit Zayn with it, but Zayn pulled the ref in the way. He then hit a low blow and nailed Williams with the title for the pinfall win.
