Former Marigold World Champion Sareee recently commented on competing for two different promotions on consecutive days.
The 29-year-old battled Chika Goto at Marigold’s Grand Destiny event on October 26. 24 hours later, she tagged along with Miku Kanae to take on Cosmic Angels (Saori Anou and Yuna Mizumori) at STARDOM Nighter in Korakuen.
At the recent Sareee-ISM Chapter IX press conference in Tokyo, Sareee opened up about performing in two different promotions within the space of 24 hours. She said that while it was not easy, she managed to do it, claiming that being a freelancer works to her strength.
“It was unthinkable to go back and forth between these two organizations, but I managed to do it. It gave me a lot of confidence that I was able to do it because I’m right in the middle of the current women’s professional wrestling world. That’s one of my strengths as a free agent, and I want to keep doing things that make people say, ‘Wait, that’s impossible!'” Sareee said.
When asked about potentially returning to Marigold on a full-time basis, the Tokyo native said that she would consider it if an opportunity arises. She also expressed her interest in fighting Mayu Iwatani.
“I don’t know, but if I get an offer, I’ll think about it then. I’m very interested in Mayu Iwatani joining Marigold because she’s the only one in the women’s pro wrestling world who started at the same time as me.” [H/T: Tokyo Sports]
