Update on Plans for Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Bayley (SPOILERS)
– As previously reported, the recently crowned women’s tag team champions Sasha Banks and Bayley revealed that they plan on defending their tag team titles across Raw, Smackdown, and NXT. During an edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio (via WrestlingInc.com), Dave Meltzer shared some details on the what’s next for Banks and Bayley.
Per Meltzer, Sasha Banks and Bayley will first defend their titles against Nia Jax and Tamina at Fastlane. That match makes sense after Jax and Tamina interrupted Banks and Bayley during their promo earlier this week.
Additionally, Meltzer stated there was talk in WWE of having a four-way tag team match at WrestleMania for the women’s tag team titles, and the titles would be defended against a Raw team, a Smackdown team, and an NXT team. Meltzer noted that this plan is not close to being a official, with the match not being set for the show as of yet.
Also, Banks and Bayley made a surprise appearance at last night’s NXT. You can also check out some footage of their appearance below. During the tapings, the champions challenged the NXT women’s division to step it up, since they will defend the tag titles later in NXT.
