AEW star Scorpio Sky was scheduled to battle The Hurt Syndicate’s Shelton Benjamin in a one-on-one contest on tonight’s episode of Collision. However, that is no longer the case, as he has been ruled out of the fixture due to injury-related reasons.
AEW boss Tony Khan took to X to reveal that Scorpio Sky has not received medical clearance to compete tonight. In his place, Dante Martin will step up to take on Benjamin.
Here’s what Tony Khan said:
“One of the matches I was really looking forward to tonight was Shelton Benjamin of The Hurt Syndicate vs. Scorpio Sky of SkyFlight. This was a match I was really excited about. Scorpio Sky is not gonna be cleared tonight by the doctors. It’s an unexpected thing. With a late change, Scorpio Sky’s tag team partner, his protege, Dante Martin, our really exciting homegrown young star, has stepped up. And Dante, who is from Minnesota himself, has said, ‘I really want to get in there. I would love this opportunity. With Scorpio Sky not cleared, please give me this opportunity. I want to wrestle Shelton Benjamin tonight on Collision.’ That’s what we gonna do. That’s exactly what we gonna do.”
