Scott D’Amore Weighs In On Dark Side Of the Ring Episodes On TNA, If He Watches TNA Now

Scott D’Amore thinks that, for the time they had, Dark Side of the Ring did a pretty good job with their TNA episodes. The three-part arc on TNA and Jeff Jarrett concluded last week and told the story of Jarrett’s founding of TNA up through his battles with Dixie Carter and eventual exit.

D’Amore was part of TNA for much of that run, and he was asked about the episodes on The Ariel Helwani Show. He noted that for the compressed time they had, they did a good job of telling the scope of the story they set out to do. He also talked about if he watches TNA since he was let go from the company in early 2024. You can see the highlights below:

On the Dark Side of the Ring Episodes:

“Yeah, I’ve watched all three episodes. I think they did a good job of of telling a story that, if you made that a 20 hour documentary, you couldn’t you you couldn’t even tell half of what happened there. I think — and there’s a lot of people that would be like, ‘Oh, well, it wasn’t really the TNA [story]’ Well, it was Jeff Jarrett’s TNA story. That’s clearly what they’re telling you it is. And you you barely cracked the surface of a lot of what Jeff’s story is. And then there’s a lot of things in there that I was like, ‘Oh, like I wish they could have dove into this or this or this,’ but ultimately there there’s not the time. And then also it’s Jeff’s TNA story.

“But I thought they did like a pretty good job of it. I mean, it’s so much to cover. So much.”

On If He Watches TNA Now:

“I mean, I keep an eye on it. I don’t watch the the shows regularly. I keep an eye on what they’re doing. That’s that’s hard for me [to give his take on the company now]. Because anything I say that’s anything other than totally positive gets taken the wrong way. And anything that I would say that’s positive, they’ll just say that I’m kissing ass… Look, I want TNA to succeed.”

On If He Has Any Animosity There:

“With TNA? No. [With Anthem?] Yeah, like I — and I don’t I don’t want to say animosity. I don’t want like Len or anybody there to get hit by a bus. But yeah, no, there’s frustrations. Because I mean, there was frustrations while I was there. It was a very rewarding, very frustrating seven years. Very proud of what we did.”
