In an interview with The Insiders (via Fightful), seamstress Sandra Gray spoke about making the Stardust costume for Cody Rhodes, which was her first time making gloves. Gray worked for WWE from 2001 to 2015.

She said: “That Stardust stuff, that was kind of a last minute thing for me. When he found out about doing that, I believe I was home — It’s SmackDown, you go home, and then you go to Raw — between that time, I had to come up with a Stardust outfit. I did, and I have never in my whole life made gloves. All of a sudden, now I have to make gloves, but I have to put a star to make it match. He doesn’t even know the stress to took to do that. Once I got it figured out, it was a lot of handsewing, I literally put half of that star and I was sewing it on my own hand that very first one. I didn’t know how to make gloves. I figured just cut it out and I literally sewed it by hand with my hand inside of it. Yes, I did get stuck a few times, but it was worth it because he committed to Stardust, and I love that about it. I feel like I was a big part of making that whole look come to life. The gear was not the easiest to make only because of the gloves.
