The planned settlement in the WWE shareholder lawsuit has been delayed due to a disagreement on the final price of the settlement. As noted earlier this week, TKO disclosed in its Q2 2026 earnings results that the WWE portion of the overall settlement in the lawsuit is $105 million.

However, the plaintiffs in the lawsuit disagree. POST Wrestling reports that the settlement is not yet finalized and that a series of letters filed by the plaintiffs’ attorneys on Thursday say that the full settlement amount is $147.5 million. One such letter said that due to TKO’s “partial disclosures” and delays in finalizing the settlement have caused the press to circulate “an incomplete picture of the full settlement.”

The site reports that the delay is being caused by a disagreement between the two sets of defendants. The first set is Vince McMahon, while the other is everyone else — Nick Khan, Triple H, George Barrios, and Michelle Wilson. According to the latter side, there is disagreement regarding insurance and indemnification, which will have an impact on who pays how much of the settlement. TKO has said that WWE expects $75 million of its contribution will be covered by insurance. The WWE-backed defendants say that it is a “narrow” disagreement.

An attorney for the plaintiffs filed a letter on July 30th addressed to the judge, describing the process as “unnecessarily arduous” and claiming that McMahon’s attorneys said he was ready to sign off on the deal while the other side “refuse[s] to authorize filing.

An attorney for the WWE side submitted a letter on August 6th which noted:

“The only obstacle to [finalizing the settlement agreement] is a narrow disagreement between Defendants [Khan, Levesque, Barrios, and Wilson] and Mr. McMahon over the scope of releases tied to certain indemnification and contribution obligations between themselves and their insurance carriers.”

An attorney for McMahon also filed a letter on that day, confirming that he has agreed to the settlement as laid out.

Representatives for McMahon did not immediately respond to requests for comment, nor did media reps for WWE.
