Shawn Michaels Recalls Ultimate Warrior’s Survivor Series 1989 Promo: ‘There Was No Creative Team’

Shawn Michaels was part of the Ultimate Warrior’s team at Survivor Series 1989, and he recently reflected on the WWE Hall of Famer’s promo before the match. Ultimate Warrior was known for his nonsensical promos and Michaels was asked if he remembered this particular one during an interview on Insight With Chris Van Vliet.
“Vaguely,” Michaels replied (per Fightful). “Again, there was no creative team, there was no writing, there was no anything. You didn’t know what he was gonna do on a promo, and same with Anvil and arguably, same with us.”
He added, “There might have been a quick powwow between all of us but, you just are along for the ride.”
Michaels is now the head of NXT and made an appearance on last week’s NXT Homecoming at Full Sail University alongside Triple H.
