WWE has a new Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Sol Ruca shocked the world, beating the dominant Becky Lynch to win the title at today’s WWE Clash in Italy in Turin.

It was a back-and-forth affair, unlike their earlier bout last weekend at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Ruca proved resilient against Lynch’s offense.

Sol Ruca managed to kick out of a Man-Handle Slam from Lynch. Ruca then hit Lynch with her own version of the Man-Handle Slam after Lynch attempted to deliver the Sol Snatcher to Ruca. Eventually, Ruca finally got some payback on Lynch, hitting “The Man” with the Sol Snatcher. One three-count later, and Rucaa is the new champion.

This marks the first major singles title of Ruca’s WWE career. She’s also a former NXT Women’s North American Champion and a former WWE Women’s Speed Champion. Lynch’s third run with the title ends at 43 days. She won the title for the third time, beating AJ Lee to regain the belt last month at WrestleMania 42: Saturday.

Lynch will more than likely have some complaints, considering her longtime WWE officiating adversary, Jessika Carr, was the assigned referee for the bout. Lynch has taken issue with Carr’s officiating in the past.
