Sol Ruca is the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion after defeating Becky Lynch at Clash in Italy yesterday. It was Sol’s first win in a match since getting called up to WWE Raw from NXT, and there’s been plenty of criticism online about Sol’s usage since getting called up. Whether it was her fans unhappy with her repeatedly losing (I must admit this was mostly me), or others critical of her work, there hasn’t been a lot of positive feedback I’ve seen since Sol got called up.

Sol Ruca was on WWE Now with Sam Roberts & Megan Morant after winning the Intercontinental Championship, and she was asked about the increased criticism she’s received since moving to Raw.

On Increased Criticism Since Getting Called Up:

“100%. even in NXT, we get people that are, you know, watching every move and we get people that are, you know, leaving hate comments and all this negativity, and essentially being up on the main roster, you have more eyes, which means more hate, but also means more love. So it is something that I’ve had to kind of navigate because I wasn’t really, it wasn’t something that I thought of when I got signed that it was going to be like, oh, this means that there’s going to be more eyes or more people trying to nitpick everything. But at the end of the day, especially with people on social media. That’s such a small percentage of our fan base, and as long as the crowd in person is happy and, you know, everyone backstage is happy with what I do, then that’s fine with me.”

Sol Ruca remains in Turin today, and may be a part of WWE Raw tonight in the same location of her triumph over The Man Becky Lynch. 411mania.com will have live coverage starting at 2 PM Eastern.
