Sol Ruca Discusses Dealing With Trolling Comments, Recalls Triple H Telling Her Not To Go on Social Media After Her Raw Debut

During a recent interview with The Masked Man Show that was recorded ahead of last weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, WWE Superstar Sol Ruca discussed dealing with trolling and hateful comments on social media, and an instance where Triple H told her to stay off social media after her Monday Night Raw debut.
Additionally, she spoke about competing at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event last December, the same night as John Cena’s last match. Ruca defeated Bayley in a singles bout at the event. Below are some highlights:
Sol Ruca on Dealing With Trolls and Haters on Social Media
“I mean, social media is tough, you know, because, like, especially with like the trolls and people hating. I feel like a lot of us just like we want to know what people think. We want to know if people liked our matches. We want to know if they’re invested and whatnot. But I feel like it doesn’t matter how many good comments we see. If we see one of those bad ones that like strikes a nerve, we’re just like, “Oh my god, I’m the worst.” Like I did terribly, but yeah, it’s just something you just have to learn to like work through. And I think that it’s going to be an ongoing thing. I don’t think any of us are ever going to completely get over that, but I did have Triple H call me after my debut with Becky and the promo and stuff, and he was like, ‘I just want you to know you did a great job.’ Like, I was like, ‘Yeah, like I’m just going to stay off social media.’ Like, you know, not 100% happy with how it turned out, but he was like, ‘Honestly, like we think you did amazing. Like, don’t worry about it. Don’t go on social media.’ Like he really just gave me that like that, okay, like you’re fine, like don’t care what people say, like we think you did amazing and just keep doing what you’re doing.”
On Getting Feedback From John Cena on the Night of His Last Match
“Yeah, that, honestly, that day was like probably one of the most fun days I’ve had here. Like it didn’t even feel like a big show. Like it did in a way, but it also felt just like a celebration. Like, everyone was just so happy, so high energy, and it was just such a fun environment. Um, and being in there with someone like Bailey, she’s absolutely incredible. She was so much fun to work with, and I’ve learned so much from her. Um, but yeah, right before John went out, he like had watched our match and he had given us some feedback on it, and both of us were like, ‘Oh my god, like he’s literally about to go out like right this second.’ Yet he’s like taking the time to come and talk to us and give us like feedback on our match gave us the feedback. He went out there, came back after his match, called us back again. He’s like, ‘See what I did? Like this is exactly what I was talking about,’ and like kind of just like just like proved what he was saying, and we were just like, ‘Oh my god, you’re just the coolest.’ Like, I just could not believe that he just took the time out of like his day. Like this was for him. This was like all about him, and he still took the time to like talk to us and like give us feedback and like leave the place better than he found it.”
Due to what happened at last weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, Sol Ruca will now receive a title rematch against Becky Lynch later this weekend at WWE Clash in Italy. The event is scheduled for Sunday, May 31.
WWE Clash in Italy will be held at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy. It will air live on the ESPN App in the U.S., with the first hour being shown on ESPN. It will stream on Netflix internationally.
