– NJPW has confirmed some new matchups for the upcoming New Japan Road event scheduled for November 17 in Yamagata. SHO is challenging Taichi for the KOPW 2023 Championship. The match stipulation for the bout will be revealed later on. Here’s the full announcement and updated lineup:

On November 17, New Japan Road hits Yamagata Big Wing, with a big title match added.
After HOUSE OF TORTURE lost in the Super Junior Tag League finals, an even more deranged SHO than usual blamed Taichi for he and Yoshinobu Kanemaru’s defeat, claiming that the Holy Emperor had infused the KOPW belt ‘with some kind of weird energy.’ Now SHO challenges Taichi November 17, but under what rules?
Also in Yamagata, Tomoaki Honma returns home, and to celebrate, Yamagata’s favourite husky voiced son is allowed to produce his own matchup. He, Ryusuke Taguchi and Ren narita will be facing the NEVER Openweight Six man Champions Tomohiro Ishii, Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi- might this lead to potential future title opportunity?
