The Gathering To Honor Brutus Beefcake

TMart Promotions has announced details (per PWInsider) for “The Gathering 6,” a wrestling fan convention taking place in Charlotte, North Carolina, from July 30th to August 3rd at the Hilton University Place.

A highlight of the event will be a special tribute to wrestling legend Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake during the “Annual Night to Remember Banquet” on Friday, August 1st. This banquet will serve as an opportunity for fans to express their gratitude for Beefcake’s decades of entertainment.

Beefcake’s career began in 1977, but he gained widespread recognition in 1984 when he joined the WWF. In 1985, he teamed with Greg “The Hammer” Valentine to form The Dream Team, capturing the WWF Tag Team Titles and engaging in memorable matches against iconic teams like The British Bulldogs and The Killer Bees.

A pivotal moment in Beefcake’s career occurred at WrestleMania 3, where he turned face and helped Roddy Piper defeat Adrian Adonis, famously shaving Adonis’s head. From 1987 to 1990, “The Barber” was one of the most popular wrestlers in the WWF.

Despite a potentially career-ending injury in 1990, Beefcake persevered, continuing to wrestle until 2015. His contributions to the industry were recognized in 2019 when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Throughout his career, Beefcake wrestled under various personas, including The Zodiac, The Booty Man, The Butcher, and The Disciple.
