During a recent interview with Sportshadow Wrestling, WWE Hall of Famer The Godfather, aka Charles Wright, shared his thoughts on WWE Superstar Danhausen and his recent breakout success. He noted that Danhausen’s popularity shows how wrestling has changed.

The former WWE Intercontinental Champion stated, “Hey, it’s, it’s the kids today. I mean, the days of the big 6’7, 300-pound wrestlers are over now. And I think with all the indie scene and everything going on, I think now wrestling is more normal-looking people instead of the big guys. And I have nothing against him. I’ve met him four or five times as Papa Shango. He’s very respectful. I wish him the best, man.”

The Godfather continued, “That just goes to show you how wrestling’s changed, you know, and now, the number one merchandise seller is a voodoo guy. I wish I was around right now.”

As previously noted, WWE executives Nick Khan and Paul “Triple H” Levesque recently took note of Danhausen becoming one of WWE’s top merchandise sellers during a recent town hall meeting.
