The Hardys have teased a potential character change in TNA this year, and Matt dropped a bit of detail on a possible gimmick tweak in a new interview. The TNA World Tag Team Champions spoke with the I Love Wrestling Podcast and during the conversation, they spoke about the potential character change as well as TNA’s journey from the promotion’s start to where they are now.
Matt had previously suggested a character change may be coming in 2026 in their storyline with The Righteous. It’s not clear if this is the same character change he was hinting at. You can see highlights below:
Matt On Their Potential Character Change:
“I think you you may see the Hardy Boys actually become ‘The GOATS.’ Where we kind of lean into it, that we are the greatest of all time to a degree. And maybe we become a little bigheaded and maybe we talk talk a little more trash.
“I don’t think it’s a a turn where we become bad guys and we become villains. I think where we become a little more edgy and we start talking a little trash. I think we can make it extremely entertaining.”
Jeff On TNA’s Journey To Where They Are Now:
“I remember when we were just doing the [Nashville] Fairgrounds, and then we started on Spike TV. And now to be here in 2026 on AMC, it just — it’s so cool that I’ve been a part of both these kind of transitions. But yeah, it’s just, everything’s great and I feel like we’re exactly where we’re supposed to be. I think everything worked out the way it was supposed to.”
