On His Immediate Reaction To Sliding Under the Ring:
“People ask me all the time like, ‘Were you embarrassed?’ And I’m like, ‘For a brief second I was while I was under the ring. But then I got up and I kept going and kept it moving. And I wasn’t hurt, my house is paid off, My kids went to private school in high school. I don’t pay any money any of them to go to college. I’m debt-free, I’m stress-free…
“So from a business perspective for me, it is a business. You have to understand it is a business. So, I’ve never kicked myself or wondered after the fact, man.”
On the Reaction Backstage After the Moment:
“Everybody asked me, ‘Are you okay?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, I’m okay.’ And then people started laughing. I looked at Vince McMahon and I say, ‘So I get a new t-shirt now, right?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, absolutely.’ And he just laughed. And you know, I got the t-shirt and the action figure with the t-shirt, and the whistle and yada, yada, yada, yada.”
“So like I said, people people wake up and they stub their toe on the side of their bed, And they still got a mortgage to pay. I slid under a rain in Saudi Arabia. I don’t have a mortgage to pay anymore. So you can laugh at me all you want, but I’ll laugh to the bank.”
