Tom Lawlor Gives Update Following Hip Surgery, Not Certain About In-Ring Return

Tom Lawlor recently gave an update on his recovery from hip surgery and noted he’s not sure about a full-time return to the ring. The wrestling star underwent surgery in August and he appeared on the Ariel Helwani show where he weighed in on how he’s feeling and more. You can see some highlights below (per Fightful):
On his surgery and recovery: “Almost immediately, I could stand up straight, I could lay down on my back flat which I haven’t been able to do for over a year. So, I was happy with that. Recovery seems to be going well, it’s just really slow and boring to be honest. I feel like I could do so much more but I guess that’s part of the battle is doing the recovery properly instead of at my own pace.”
On his in-ring future: “Yeah, I think there is a number of people who’ve had hip replacement [surgeries] that have gone back to wrestle. Can I? Yes. Will I? That remains to be seen. To be really honest with you, over the past few years, the juice that I’ve gotten hasn’t been worth the squeeze and when you’re left in a situation like I’ve been for the past 18 months or so, it puts things in a little bit of a different perspective. I’m sure you’ll see me in the ring again, no wrestler ever really retires, they just stop taking bookings. But, I don’t know if you’ll see it as any sort of full-time gig for me.”
