Tony Khan Praises Steven Borden Jr. After Dark Match In AEW, Note on Backstage Reaction

Steven Borden Jr. worked a dark match for AEW last week, and Tony Khan had some high praise for him amid a report of the reaction within the company. Borden, the son of Sting, worked a dark match at last week AEW Dynamite taping. He faced fellow Darby Allin trainee Kiran Gray.
Fightful Select reached out to Tony Khan and others in AEW about the match. Khan gave the site a quote, replying:
“I THOUGHT HE WAS EXCELLENT. He’s doing a great job. Very exciting in my opinion.”
Other sources also spoke positively about Borden’s work. A longtime staff member said they thought he did very well and praised his physique. The source said that they would trade years of their NFL team winning to look like Borden. Several others praised Borden’s look. One source added that they expected Borden to be under AEW contract soon if he isn’t already.
Borden previously faced Grey at DEFY Aeon, his independent debut match.
