AEW President and CEO Tony Khan reportedly met with Skydance executives in Los Angeles, California, recently.

Paramount Skydance completed its merger with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) earlier this month. The combined company has been named Skydance, with David Ellison serving as its chairman and CEO. Khan has previously spoken about his conversations with Ellison, claiming that the latter is a supporter of AEW and the company will be better off post-merger.

On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (WOR) [accessed by Wrestling Inc.], Dave Meltzer reported that Tony Khan came out of the meetings with Skydance executives “extremely happy.”

“I don’t know any of the details yet, but I do know that [Khan] came out of the meetings extremely happy. Much happier than he’s been. … He’s always been happy about this relationship; he’s always been beaming about it since day one, but he definitely came out of these meetings the happiest he’s been. And obviously there were moves made already. … There’s two wrestling moves that Skydance already made, and neither of them would look positive.”

Meltzer also provided a clarification on his recent report regarding Women of Wrestling. After initially reporting that Skydance has canceled Women of Wrestling, he clarified that it will get another season, though it won’t be syndicated. Meltzer added that a channel on Roku that used to air WOW and NWA 24/7 has been canceled.

Khan previously shared his excitement for the merger. You can check his comments HERE.
