Backstage Update on Tony Khan Turning Down WBD TV Deal For ROH

A new update from Fightful Select’s Q&A session reports that Warner Bros. Discovery offered Tony Khan a television deal for Ring of Honor. However, the proposal did not meet Khan’s asking price. As a result, he declined the offer, leaving ROH without a traditional TV home.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp addressed a fan question about ROH’s future on television and clarified that WBD had a TV deal in mind for the brand. According to Sapp, no broadcaster has been “willing to meet” the price Tony Khan is asking for ROH programming. Instead of an ROH weekly show, WBD filled the available slot by adding a replay of AEW Dynamite to TruTV on Fridays at 10 PM ET. They had initially discussed the timeslot as a potential ROH slot.

Sapp believes that major networks are unlikely to make “real” offers until the ROH product receives stronger creative focus. The update highlights the broader struggle Ring of Honor has faced in securing a dedicated television presence since its 2022 acquisition. Although the company has benefited from occasional crossover segments on AEW programming, its content remains primarily on its YouTube channel and the HonorClub streaming platform.
