AEW talent continued to pay their tributes to former colleague Andy ‘The Butcher’ Williams on tonight’s Collision.
As noted, Brody King, Colt Cabana, Jeff Jarrett, and more shared their heartfelt tributes for The Butcher on tonight’s show. More wrestlers, such as PAC, Daniel Garcia, Willow Nightingale, Kyle O’Reilly, and Christopher Daniels, have since paid their respects to Williams.
Here’s what they said:
Daniel Garcia: Andy was a big brother to me
“I’ve known Andy for close to 10 years at this point, and I, in a lot of ways, really grew up with him. I felt he was a big brother to me. He gave me my nickname; he gave me my nickname, Red Death. He’s the first person you want to call any time you had a success, any time you had a win in life. But he was also the kind of person that when you have a loss in life, he was the first person you wanted to tell it to.”
Willow Nightingale hails Andy Williams as an epitome of a good brother
“He was a big rockstar. Came to wrestling, crushed it. This crazy, caveman-like dude, who just looked cool as hell and could kick the brakes of anyone, but was so kind and humble. No ego. He put his hands up and helped me more than he probably ever realized. I just hope he is remembered for what a great person he was because he is the epitome of a good brother.”
“You were an anomaly”- PAC
“We always knew you were an anomaly. Too good for this world. I love you, man, and you always made sure that I knew you loved me, too. I miss you, my friend. Till we meet again.”
Chuck Taylor remembers Andy Williams as the ‘coolest guy’ he’s ever met
“Andy Williams was the coolest guy I’ve ever met. I don’t say that hyperbolically. He was the coolest guy I’ve ever met. In college, Every Time I Die, was my favorite band. I was so lucky to be able to become his friend. Andy, I’m going to miss you, man! You were the coolest guy I’ve ever met.”
Christopher Daniels calls Andy Williams a ‘gentle giant’
“He had such a distinct look, a distinct image. Then getting to know Andy as this gentle giant was just such a pleasure.”
“He will always be loved”—Lee Moriarty
“I think Andy Williams is the best of professional wrestling and the world and what it should be. He will always be loved, and he will always be missed.”
Kyle O’Reilly calls The Butcher a beacon of light in the AEW locker room
“Andy was a beacon of light in our locker room, and no matter what kind of day you were having, you could rely on him to make you smile. We’re all going to miss him very, very much.”
Roderick Strong thanks Andy Williams for being a good brother
“I was just thinking the other day when we were grappling at CSW, and we both had no fucking clue what we were doing. We were just trying. Thanks for the random texts. Thanks for the random conversations. Thanks for just being a good brother.”
Darius Martin on Andy Williams: “Funniest Storyteller ever”
“There aren’t really words to describe what Andy meant to the locker room. He was someone everyone could look up to as a leader and everything you’d ask for in a friend. He was the funniest storyteller ever.”
