Fall Brawl 1994
“The Enforcer” Arn Anderson vs. “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair
Arn has the SWEET ass Horseman music, bow down! Heenan’s commentary is great putting over this battle of friends.
They stare down and Eddie and Alex Wright watch on from the crowd. Some jockeying for position, and Flair struts. Lock up and Flair off the ropes and Anderson down, but Anderson back up and a drop toe hold to Flair and he paint brushes the back of Flair’s head. Test of strength, no lock up now and Anderson off the ropes and takes Flair down with a shoulder block, and again and then Anderson slaps Flair! Clip ahead to Flair chopping Anderson down. Anderson in the corner and a back elbow to Flair. Anderson up top…but punches Flair, jumps down and locks in a sleeper hold. Hammerlock slam by Anderson and Flair begs off. Hammerlock to Flair on the mat now and they play up the Anderson history of arm submissions. Half nelson and rolls Flair for a count of 2. Flair escapes to his feet and chops at Anderson. Again and Anderson takes him down by the hair! Clip ahead to Anderson with lefts, Flair corner flip, Anderson charges and flies over the ropes as Flair pulled them down. Flair goes up top? Double ax handle to Anderson on the floor! Mark that one on your calendars! Clip ahead to the figure four attempt and Flair locks it partially as Anderson blocks it, then Flair gets it completely. Flair pulls back and Anderson tries to reverse it. 2 count of Anderson, and another but he fights. Anderson is pissed! Anderson turns the figure four! Flair releases the hold and whips Anderson and he slumps to the mat. Pillman is here! He NAILS FLAIR! KICK to the head of Flair. DDT by Anderson and that is it!

Fall Brawl 1996
Mean Gene discusses the War Games match. It is a painful match, and a match that only WCW can offer.
War Games: The Dungeon of Doom (Shark, Zodiac, Kamala and Meng) vs. The Hulkamaniacas (Hulk Hogan, Sting, Lex Luger and Macho Man Randy Savage)
Hogan’s team has the war paint on.
Sting and the Shark to start. Shark beats him down with some right hands. Snap mare and then he steps on him. Sting comes back and SLAMS the Shark! Clip ahead to Savage and the Zodiac are in as well. Boston crab on Zodiac, and we clip ahead to Luger hitting Savage. They brawl and Sting tries to separate them and Meng is in and takes everyone out. Head butts and kicks to all. Clip ahead to Hogan and all men are in. Powder to the eyes of everyone! Hogan is a cheating bastard! He pummels the Shark. Camel clutch on the Zodiac and he gives it up! Hogan now gets 5-minutes with the Taskmaster. Hogan kicks away on him and tosses him to the cage repeatedly. Boot to the Taskmaster, and here is the Giant! He throws down the ref. He leaps the ropes and grabs Hogan! Rights by Hogan, but no effect! GOOZLE ON HOGAN! He “snaps” Hogan’s neck and then yells at him and here is Luger, Sting and Savage back to save Hogan and check on him.
The Hulkamaniacs win. 8:10 shown.
Fall Brawl 1997
War Games: Team N W O (Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Fake Sting) w/ Ted Dibiase vs. Team WCW (Arn Anderson, Ric Flair, Lex Luger and Sting)
They play only each team had 3 men due to the mystery about what side Sting is on.
Clipped into the match where Flair has control. Low blows for all. All 6 men are in now and the n W o’s man is Fake Sting! Figure four on Hogan. The crowd boo’s “Sting”. He cleans house on the WCW team with trademark Sting moves. They really sell that this is Sting. Stinger splashes for all. WCW’s 4th man is STING! He beats down the entire n W o including the Fake Sting. REAL Stinger splashes for all! Team WCW looks on and does nothing. He points to the n W o and says “is that good enough for you?” HE LEAVES! The n W o beats down Team WCW and Fake Sting locks on the Scorpion Death Lock to Luger as Hogan applies a front face lock and he’s done.
They keep beating down Team WCW and leave them laying. Luger crawls to the back and keeps yelling for the “Stinger.” Hogan beats him down some more and Hall and Nash join. Flair and Anderson try to fight back, low blows by Flair and Savage is here! He takes Hogan back to the ring and Hogan runs but Savage has him trapped. The Giant is here and beats down Savage. CHOKE SLAM to Savage!
The n W o wins. 6:35 shown.
Fall Brawl 1998
Mean Gene says the rules changed in 1998 with the winner getting a title shot as it was every man for himself.
War Games: Team WCW (Rowdy Piper, DDP and The Warrior) vs. Team Wolf Pac (Sting, Lex Luger and Kevin Nash) vs. Team N W O (Bret Hart, Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Stevie Ray)
Hart and DDP start us out. Lock up and Hart takes DDP to the corner. Right hands to DDP, and then an arm bar. Hart works over the arm but DDP reverses him and gets a headlock. DDP takes hart down and gets 2 count. DDP with right hands and a belly to belly to Hart for 2. Clip ahead to Hart getting a side back breaker on DDP. Head butt to the nizzies of DDP. Clip ahead to Stevie Ray coming in, feel the lack of excitement. Stevie beats down DDP with boots. Clip ahead a bit and DDP gets a double clothesline on Stevie and Hart. Clip ahead to Stevie with an atomic drop to DDP. Sting is out. He still has his coat on and beats down Stevie. Stevie to the other ring and Sting flies form one ring to another with a splash. Clip ahead to DDP and Hart paired off and Sting and Stevie going at it still. Sting beats down Stevie who is against the cage and the next man is Piper as Hart hits the 2nd rope elbow on DDP. Piper hits anyone and everyone! Crazy ass Piper is in the house! He bites Stevie and then attacks Hart and DDP. Rights to Hart and he and DDP go at it now! Eye poke! Piper bites Sting now. Hart nails DDP with a right hand and the next man is Luger. Luger goes after Stevie and nails the loaded forearm. Luger now takes out Hart and then Piper. Sting with a face buster on DDP and then Hart goes after Luger. The next man is Nash. He’s jogging to the ring! Nash nails Piper, knees to Piper now. Power bomb to Stevie and now Hogan sneaks out and is in the match. He and Stevie hug and Luger gets the rack on Hart. Hogan has the slapjack and nails everyone but Stevie. They move Nash and leg drop to Nash. Another leg drop after posing and smoke fills the ring…LISTEN TO ME WARRIORS!!!!!! Warrior is here magically. Hogan beats him down and the ring fills with smoke again. Hogan has the Warrior jacket, but no Warrior. Here he is running to the ring. He takes Hogan to town ramming him to the cage. Stevie fights Warrior off and the Disciple pulls Hogan out. They lock the cage. Warrior tosses Stevie into the cage and Warrior tires to escape. Warrior looks on and wants Hogan. Hogan circles the cage and Warrior shakes the cage in anger. He peels part of the cage back and falls to the floor. Tremendous! He limps towards Hogan and they brawl and security breaks it up. Hogan and the Disciple run away. Back to the MATCH now and DIAMOND CUTTER on Stevie 1…2…3 gets the anti-climatic win. Nash and Luger are taking a nap I think.
DDP won the title shot against Goldberg at Halloween Havoc. 17:00 shown.
The 411: Fall Brawl 1998 was the death of the War Games. They took a classic match, messed with the formula by making teams that weren’t really teams and was brutally bad. So naturally they show us most of that match. It’s cool to see the Steiner’s before Scott was a broken down roid freak and when Rick was really motivated. Flair vs. Anderson is a classic match, which I recommend finding the whole match. The War Games from 1997 is great because of the Sting angle. The live crowd totally bough that Sting had joined the n W o and the announcers pulled it off great as well. Once again, if you can find this for $3 or under, pick it up for some fun WCW nostalgia. |
