Trick Williams is headed to Money in the Bank, qualifying for the men’s MITB match in a triple threat on this week’s WWE Smackdown. Williams, Randy Orton, and Rey Fenix competed on Friday night’s show in a match that would determine one of the competitors in the match at next month’s PLE.
The 10 and a half minute match saw Orton and Williams go at each other initially, with Orton knocking Fenix down. Fenix got right back in the mix and the match shifted momentum several times. Orton controlled the middle portion of the match, dropping Fenix and Williams on the commentary table and taking out Lil Yachty as well.
Fenix eventually managed to stop Orton’s momentum as he interrupted a superplex attempt and hit a frog splash for a nearfall. The end of the match saw Fenix leap off but get caught with an RKO by Orton, before Williams laid out Orton with the Trick Shot and then pinned Fenix for the victory.
You can see clips from the WWE Smackdown match below. Williams joins Bron Breakker and Je’Von Evans as qualified participants in the men’s Money in the Bank match at the October 10th PLE.
